Merchants running Oxify on their cart

Your cart page isn’t selling anything.
It’s a receipt.
You paid for the click. You paid for the session. Then the highest-intent moment on your entire store — the second an item goes in the cart — passes without a single offer. A cart upsell puts an offer in front of the shopper at exactly that moment, with no extra traffic cost.
Default Shopify cart
- A shopper adds one item and never sees a reason to add a second.
- Cross-sells live in a different app — if they exist at all.
- Subscriptions are a separate decision on a page most shoppers never reach.
- Discounts need a code the shopper has to find, copy and remember.
- Raising AOV means stitching three or four apps together, each with its own bill.
With Oxify
- A progress bar shows exactly how close they are to a free gift — so they add one more.
- Frequently Bought Together sits in the drawer itself, one click to add.
- Subscribe & Save appears in the cart, with the saving shown before checkout.
- Bundle and volume discounts apply the moment qualifying items land in the cart.
- One install covers the product page, the cart and post-purchase. One bill.
Every way a cart can raise average order value
Most apps do one of these and call it a cart drawer. Oxify runs all four AOV levers from the same install, so they never fight each other over the same discount.
Reward the next item
A visible goal — free shipping, then a free gift — turns “done shopping” into “what else gets me there?”
Offer the obvious pair
Frequently Bought Together in the drawer, priced and added in one tap. No new page, no lost cart.
Convert to recurring
Subscribe & Save at the point of decision, with the saving spelled out — not buried on a product page.
Price the bigger basket
Volume and bundle discounts apply automatically through Shopify’s own discount engine.
One more item is a goal, not a decision
Set the thresholds, for example free shipping at $50, a free gift at $75 and a bigger gift at $120. The drawer shows the shopper exactly how far they have to go, and the bar moves as they add.
- Unlimited tiers: free shipping, free product, percentage or fixed discount
- Shopper picks the gift, or you set it — both are supported
- Thresholds convert automatically per market with Shopify Markets
- Removing an item rolls the reward back cleanly, with no orphaned free products

Every cart becomes a bigger order — without a code
Frequently Bought Together renders inside the drawer as a one-click cross-sell. No redirect, no new page, no chance to lose the cart — the in-cart upsell fires the moment the add-to-cart happens, while intent is highest. Recommendations respect variants, bundles and subscription products so nothing broken ever gets offered.
- Product list widget for the drawer and the product page, sourced from Related or Complementary products (Shopify Search & Discovery), a manual pick or collection, or Recently viewed
- Respects variants, inventory and subscription-only items
- Built-in analytics show which offers actually earn, not just which get shown
- Also runs on the product page and post-purchase from the same rules
Track it: revenue per offer is reported separately, so you can turn off the ones that only add clutter.

One-time buyers become recurring revenue
The subscribe option belongs where the buying decision is actually made. Oxify puts the toggle in the drawer with the saving shown in currency, not just a percentage — and hands the subscription off to the app you already run.
- Works with ReCharge, Appstle, Seal and Shopify’s native subscriptions
- Shows the saved amount and the delivery interval before checkout
- No separate subscription landing page to build or maintain
- Falls back gracefully to one-time if a product isn’t subscription-eligible
Compounding: a subscriber converted in-cart costs you nothing in ad spend on every order after the first.

Start raising the order before the cart
Add-ons sit on the product page, so the basket is already bigger by the time the drawer opens. Volume and bundle discounts then price it — buy 2 save 10%, buy 3 save 15% — through Shopify’s own automatic-discount engine, so they never collide with your campaign codes.
- Warranties, gift wrap, express handling and accessories as one-tap add-ons
- Quantity breaks, mix-and-match bundles and BOGO from one rule builder
- Applies through Shopify Automatic Discounts — no codes to distribute
- Stacks predictably with gift tiers instead of cancelling them out
Highest-margin revenue on the page: add-ons carry almost no fulfilment cost and no additional ad spend.

Four chances to raise the order.
One install.
Most stores bolt on a separate app for each of these and then spend their time refereeing the conflicts between them. Oxify owns all four touchpoints, so the rules are written once and the discounts agree with each other.
Product page
Add-ons and Frequently Bought Together before the item is even in the cart.
Cart drawer
Gift progress, cross-sells, Subscribe & Save, volume pricing.
Sticky add to cart
A persistent sticky cart that keeps the reward goal in view on every page.
Post-purchase
A one-click offer after payment that needs no second checkout.

The offer that fits your catalogue
Cart merchandising is not one tactic. What lifts a supplement store is not what lifts an apparel store. Here is where we’d point you first.
Apparel & accessories
Wide catalogues where a second item is genuinely useful.
Start with: Run gift tiers at 1.4× your current AOV, with FBT on size-adjacent items.
Supplements & consumables
Refill cycles that reward a subscription decision made early.
Start with: Lead with Subscribe & Save in-cart, then a volume ladder on multi-month packs.
Home, beauty & giftable goods
High gifting intent and strong bundle logic.
Start with: Bundle discounts plus a free-gift threshold set just above your median order.

Shopify cart drawer & upsell apps — frequently asked questions
What is Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells?
Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells is a Shopify app from Oxify (listed as “Oxify App”) that replaces the store’s cart with a slide-out drawer and adds offers to it: free-gift and free-shipping progress bars, one-click cross-sells, frequently bought together, Subscribe & Save upgrades and volume discounts, plus product page add-ons and post-purchase and thank-you page offers. It is rated 4.9 from 40 reviews on the Shopify App Store, carries the Built for Shopify badge, and costs $9.99 to $149.99 a month by total store orders, with every feature on every tier and a 14-day free trial.
How does Oxify compare with Kaching CartDrawer and Essent?
Kaching CartDrawer (5.0, 1,497 reviews) and Essent Cart Drawer (5.0, 1,087 reviews) are drawer specialists with many more reviews. Essent is free with every feature up to 30 orders a month. On price the three cross over: at 100 orders Oxify is $9.99 against $14.99 and $13.99; from 101 to 199 orders Kaching and Essent are cheaper; at 400 orders Oxify is $29.99 against $24.99 and $23.99. Oxify’s difference is coverage: product page, drawer, post-purchase, thank-you page and Shopify Plus checkout in one app. Figures from the live listings, 13 October 2026.
What is a Shopify cart drawer app?
A cart drawer is the slide-out panel that appears when a shopper adds an item, instead of sending them to a separate cart page. A cart drawer app replaces Shopify’s default drawer with one you control — so you can add a free-gift progress bar, cross-sells, subscription options and volume discounts at the highest-intent moment in the session. What a Shopify cart drawer is, in full.
What is a cart drawer upsell?
A cart drawer upsell is an offer shown inside the slide cart itself — a cross-sell, free-gift progress bar, Subscribe & Save toggle or volume discount that appears the moment an item is added, instead of on a separate page. The shopper stays one click from checkout the whole time, so nothing blocks the purchase. Our Shopify cart upsell strategy guide covers which offers to run and how to measure them.
In-cart upsell vs post-purchase upsell — which should I use?
Both, for different jobs. An in-cart upsell raises the order before checkout, when adding one more item costs the shopper almost no extra effort. A post-purchase upsell fires after payment, so it can never hurt conversion — but it only reaches shoppers who already bought. Oxify runs both from the same install and the same rules, so you don’t have to choose.
How do cart upsells affect conversion rate?
Done in the drawer, they don’t interrupt checkout — the shopper stays one click from paying the whole time. That is the difference between an in-cart upsell and a pop-up: nothing blocks the path to checkout, offers are one-tap adds, and per-offer analytics show you which ones earn so anything that only adds clutter can be switched off. See do upsells hurt conversion rate for how to test it.
How long does setup take, and do I need a developer?
About ten minutes for a standard configuration, and no developer. Oxify installs as an app embed block and inherits your theme’s fonts and colours, and everything after that is a visual editor: no code to paste and no Liquid to edit. No theme files are modified, so uninstalling leaves nothing behind. For something unusual, such as a custom layout, our team will build it with you on a call.
Will it work with my Shopify theme?
Yes. Oxify’s slide cart drawer runs on Online Store 2.0 themes including Dawn, Impulse, Prestige, Motion and Warehouse, and on most older themes too, because it installs as an app embed block rather than editing theme files. If your theme has a heavily customised cart, book a call and we’ll confirm compatibility before you install.
Does it conflict with my existing discount codes?
No. Volume and bundle discounts run through Shopify’s native automatic-discount engine rather than a parallel system, so your campaign codes keep working alongside them. This is the usual reason stacked cart apps break each other, and it’s why we built it this way. More in how discount codes work in a cart drawer.
Does Oxify work on Shopify Plus?
Yes. On Shopify Plus, Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells can add upsells inside checkout through Checkout Extensibility. Shopify reserves offers on the information, shipping and payment steps for Plus stores, so on other plans the same offers run in the cart drawer, after payment and on the thank-you page. Multi-store and expansion-store setups are supported too.
Which subscription apps does it work with?
It works with the Shopify subscription app you already run, including ReCharge, Appstle, Seal Subscriptions and Shopify’s native subscriptions. The in-cart Subscribe & Save toggle hands off to that app and shows the saving and the delivery interval before checkout, so you do not need to migrate subscribers.
Does it slow my store down?
Shopify enforces one performance rule on every app: it must not lower a store’s Lighthouse performance score by more than 10 points, measured across the home, product and collection pages (see Shopify’s performance rules). Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells carries the Built for Shopify badge, whose requirements repeat that limit, and the drawer loads asynchronously without blocking rendering. To check any cart app on your own store, run Lighthouse with it switched on and off.
What do the free trial and the 30-day ROI guarantee cover?
The trial is 14 days free with no credit card, and you can uninstall from your Shopify admin at any time. If you stay and your average order value has not increased within 30 days of going live, we refund 100% of what you paid. We ask only that Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells was actually live with at least one offer configured.
How is my store’s data handled?
Oxify only requests the Shopify scopes it needs to read products and write cart and discount data. We do not sell data, and everything is deleted on uninstall in line with Shopify’s data-retention requirements. The permissions are listed under Data access on the App Store listing, so you can review them before you install.
What is an add-to-cart upsell, and how is it different from an in-cart upsell?
An add-to-cart upsell is the offer a shopper sees the moment they add a product, when the cart drawer opens with the next suggestion already in view. An in-cart upsell is any offer that lives inside the cart itself: a free-gift progress bar, a one-click cross-sell, Subscribe & Save or a volume discount. Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells runs both from the same drawer, so the add to cart upsell and the offers waiting in the cart follow one rule set.
How quickly can I launch product page and cart upsells?
Most stores are live in about ten minutes. Install from the Shopify App Store, switch on the app embed (no theme code), match fonts and colours to your theme, then set your gift thresholds and cross-sells. Product page add-ons and Frequently Bought Together come with the same install, so the product page upsell and the cart upsell share one setup and one bill.
