Best Shopify Post Purchase Upsell Apps in 2026

The best Shopify post-purchase upsell apps in 2026 are Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells (our app), ReConvert, AfterSell, Selleasy, Zipify OCU, WISER, Kaching, Honeycomb, and AOV.ai. Five of the best tools for post-purchase upsells here have a free plan: ReConvert, Selleasy, WISER, Honeycomb and AOV.ai. Prices and ratings were checked on 11 October 2026.

Order confirmation with upsell offer
Order confirmation with post purchase upsell offer

Post-purchase is one of four upsell placements. For cart, product page and checkout tools as well, see the best Shopify upsell apps.

A post-purchase upsell is the one upsell that cannot cost you the sale: payment is already taken, so a declined offer leaves the order as it was. It is not the strongest placement, though. Growth Suite, a vendor that sells its own upsell app, measured offer acceptance across 250 Shopify stores between January and June 2026 and reported 6% for post-purchase offers (about 1 million offers, 200 stores), against 12% in the cart drawer and 7% on product pages. Treat post-purchase as the last layer of a funnel, not a replacement for cart and product-page offers.

That is why this guide ranks apps on both post-purchase power and full-funnel capability. Most "best post-purchase upsell app" lists cover only single-purpose tools, and the right pick depends on whether you want one placement done well or the whole funnel in one install.

Everything dated below was read on 11 October 2026: each app's live App Store rating, review count, pricing and plan limits, Shopify's own post-purchase rules, and, where marked, first-party Oxify data. The strengths and "best for" lines summarise each app's own listing; they are not results from our own benchmark.

What Is a Post-Purchase Upsell?

A post-purchase upsell is an offer that appears after a customer completes checkout but before they see the final order confirmation page.

Here's how it works step by step:

  1. Customer clicks "Pay Now" and completes their purchase.
  2. A targeted offer appears — usually a complementary product at a discount (here's how to price that discount: 10% vs 20% vs free shipping).
  3. Customer clicks "Accept" — the item gets added to their existing order with one click. No re-entering card details. No second checkout.
  4. If they decline, the original order stays completely untouched. Zero risk.

Shopify calls this screen the post-purchase page: it appears once the order is confirmed and before the Thank you page, and an accepted offer is added to the original order. Shopify's docs still label post-purchase checkout extensions as beta (read 11 October 2026), and, per Shopify's checkout technologies page, they are available on every plan except Shopify Starter. Only offers inside the information, shipping and payment steps need Shopify Plus.

Why Add a Post-Purchase Upsell if It Converts Less Than a Cart Offer?

Because it costs nothing to try. A pre-purchase offer sits between the shopper and the pay button; a post-purchase offer cannot get in the way of the sale because the sale is already secured. For the payment step itself, see how a Shopify checkout upsell works with and without Plus, and whether upsells hurt conversion rate.

What the after-checkout moment gives you:

  • No risk to the original sale. Customer says no? Their order stays exactly the same.
  • One-click acceptance. The payment method is already on the order, so there are no forms and no second checkout.
  • A lower acceptance rate, with no downside. Growth Suite's 6% post-purchase average is half its 12% cart-drawer average, but a declined post-purchase offer cannot lose the order.
  • Revenue added to an order you already paid to win. No extra ad spend. The revenue an app reports is app-attributed, so compare AOV before and after, as covered in the measurement section below.
  • A better customer experience when the offer fits. A relevant add-on (batteries with a flashlight, a case with a phone) feels helpful, not pushy.

First-Party Data: What Post-Purchase Added for One Oxify Store

Replenhair, a UK hair-care brand, uses Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells (our app) for its cart drawer, product-page offers and a one-click post-purchase offer. Its Oxify Analytics dashboard, read on 31 July 2026 (all-time since install), showed £15,451 of Oxify-attributed revenue: £8,742 from the cart drawer (57%), £4,136 from product-page offers and £2,573 from post-purchase offers (16.7%), with the thank-you page placement switched off.

Post-purchase was the smallest of the three active placements, which fits the benchmark above, but it still added £2,573 to orders that had already converted. This is one store's app-attributed gross revenue, not a controlled test and not a lift in AOV. The figures and the dashboard screenshot are in the Replenhair case study.

You do not need a complex funnel to start: one relevant one-click offer on the post-purchase page is enough to measure.

When Does Shopify Show a Post-Purchase Offer? Rules and Limits

Every app on this list runs on the same Shopify post-purchase checkout extension, so Shopify's limits apply to all of them. We read Shopify's product-offers documentation on 11 October 2026. The offer does not appear in these cases:

SituationWhat Shopify's documentation says
Buyer pays with an installment service or wallet (Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, Apple Pay, Amazon Pay, Google Pay)The post-purchase page is not shown
Buyer pays with a gift card or any method other than a credit cardThe post-purchase page is not shown
Payment provider that retains the card's CVV (for example Braintree, Payflow Pro, PayPal Payments Pro, Eway)Not supported
Order with duties and multiple currenciesOffers are not shown
Local delivery orderOffers are not shown
Order under $0.50Does not qualify
Order placed outside the Online Store sales channelDoes not qualify
More than one post-purchase app installedOnly one app can be selected for the post-purchase page
Offers accepted in one checkoutA maximum of three

Three practical consequences when you choose an app:

  • You get one post-purchase app, not a stack. If you install two, Shopify shows only the one selected in your checkout settings, so pick one app to own the post-purchase page.
  • Buyers paying with wallets or installments never see an offer. Check your payment mix in Shopify before you set an expectation, and see which payment methods support post-purchase offers.
  • Measurement is split. Pixel-based analytics report only the initial purchase, and services that load through ScriptTag or additional scripts have incomplete conversion data, so read accepted-offer revenue from the app's own analytics and from the order in Shopify.

Shopify also places a hold on fulfilment for orders going through a post-purchase flow. The hold is released when the customer visits the Order status page or, if they never finish, one hour after checkout.

What to Look For in a Post-Purchase Upsell App

Use this checklist to compare the apps. It is the set of criteria we read each listing against:

  • True one-click upsell — Customer adds the item without re-entering payment details. If the app redirects or creates a second checkout, it's not a real post-purchase upsell.
  • Funnel depth — Can you build upsell → downsell → cross-sell sequences? Or just one static offer?
  • A/B testing — No testing = guessing. Guessing doesn't scale.
  • Targeting rules — Different offers by product, cart value, customer location, tags, or UTM source.
  • Store impact — Shopify's enforced performance rule is that an app may not lower the storefront Lighthouse performance score by more than 10 points, and Built for Shopify repeats it. The badge tells you the app passed Shopify's review; it is not a speed test.
  • Billing basis — Check what the price scales with: upsell revenue (Zipify OCU), funnel views (Honeycomb), your Shopify plan (AOV.ai paid plans), orders or upsell revenue (ReConvert) or monthly orders (Oxify, Selleasy, WISER, Kaching).
  • Analytics & attribution — Can you see exactly how much incremental revenue each offer generates?
  • Mobile optimization — Open the offer on a phone before you launch it. A tall image or a long headline can push the Accept button out of view.

1. Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells (Our App) — Best Full-Funnel AOV System

Why We Rank Oxify First, and Where It Is Weaker

We make Oxify, so read this slot as our own pick. Several apps below (Zipify OCU, WISER, Selleasy, ReConvert, Honeycomb) now list cart or product-page upsells next to post-purchase, so full-funnel coverage alone no longer sets one app apart. What Oxify starts from is the cart drawer: the drawer, reward and free-shipping bar, free gifts, quantity breaks and post-purchase offers sit in one install, and every plan includes every feature.

If you've read our best Shopify apps roundup, you know Oxify already ranks high across categories. For post-purchase specifically, here's the full breakdown:

Complete Feature Set

  • Post-purchase upsell funnel — One-click offers after checkout. No payment re-entry.
  • Slide cart drawer — Replace your default cart page with a dynamic slide cart featuring cross-sells, BOGO deals, and an animated progress bar.
  • Free shipping progress bar — Shows shoppers how far they are from the threshold; see our free shipping bar guide.
  • Frequently bought together (FBT) — Smart product page bundles. Works especially well for beauty and skincare stores.
  • AI recommendations — Named in the App Store feature list, alongside rule-based and manual offers.
  • Free gifts with purchase — Set spending thresholds and auto-add gifts.
  • Volume discounts — Buy more, save more quantity breaks directly in the cart drawer.
  • Countdown timer — Urgency timers in the announcement bar.
  • Trust badges — Payment icons and security seals to reduce checkout anxiety.
  • Shipping protection and subscription upgrades — Shipping protection add-ons, plus in-cart subscription upgrades that work with Shopify subscription apps.

Where It Falls Short

  • Smaller review base (40 reviews) compared to established players like ReConvert (3,108) or Selleasy (2,748). The 4.9 average is strong, but it rests on a fraction of the production evidence those apps have.
  • Primarily known as a cart drawer app. If you only need a standalone post-purchase tool and already have your cart covered, a focused app like Kaching or AOV.ai may be a simpler choice.
  • No A/B testing in the App Store feature list. The comparison tables below show it as coming soon. If you need split-tested, branching upsell and downsell funnels today, look at Zipify OCU, ReConvert or AOV.ai.

Why Full-Funnel Matters for Post-Purchase

A store that wants post-purchase offers usually also wants a cart drawer app, a bundles app, a free gift app and a countdown timer. Each is another plan fee and another settings screen, and for post-purchase specifically Shopify runs only one app at a time (see the rules above), so a second post-purchase app does not stack.

Oxify's plans cover the cart drawer, free gifts, frequently bought together, quantity breaks, the announcement bar with countdown timer and post-purchase offers in one install. The trade-off is depth: a dedicated post-purchase app may give you more funnel control.

Who Should Use Oxify

  • Stores that want one app instead of several.
  • Brands trying to run fewer apps.
  • Merchants who want post-purchase upsells combined with a strong cart drawer.
  • Founders who want every feature on every plan, with flat order-based pricing and no revenue commissions.

Who Should Skip Oxify

  • Stores that only want a standalone thank-you page builder with surveys, birthday capture and video blocks: ReConvert is built for that.
  • Teams that need A/B-tested, branching post-purchase funnels today: Zipify OCU is built for that.
  • Buyers who weigh review volume above everything else: Oxify has 40 reviews, against thousands for ReConvert and Selleasy.

2. ReConvert (Upsell.com) — Best Dedicated Thank-You Page Builder

Rating: 4.8/5 (3,108 reviews) Pricing: Free up to 50 orders or $50 upsell revenue; $9.99/mo for 51–100 orders, $19.99 for 101–200, $39.99 for 201–500 Free Trial: 14 days on paid plans Certification: no Built for Shopify badge Best for: Maximum control over thank-you page design and functionality. ReConvert on the App Store (listing "ReConvert post purchase upsell" by Upsell.com, read 11 October 2026).

What Makes ReConvert Stand Out

ReConvert owns the thank-you page category. The drag-and-drop builder is polished, flexible, and genuinely beginner-friendly. You can add one-click upsells, cross-sells, birthday collectors, post-purchase surveys ("How did you hear about us?"), reorder buttons, countdown timers, and custom video blocks.

Key Strengths

  • Drag-and-drop thank-you page editor.
  • One-click post-purchase offers. No payment re-entry.
  • Built-in A/B testing and funnel analytics.
  • AI product recommendations.
  • Largest review base on this list (3,108 reviews), so there are more real-world reports to read before you install.
  • Combines upsells into a single order (no extra shipping charges).

Where It Falls Short

  • Plans scale with orders or upsell revenue. The first listed tiers are $9.99 (51–100 orders), $19.99 (101–200) and $39.99 (201–500); check the listing for larger volumes.
  • Checkout upsells limited to Shopify Plus.
  • The thank-you and post-purchase builder is the core. The listing also names cart, product-page and checkout upsells, a cart drawer and free-gift features, but we have not tested how deep they go, so compare them with a dedicated cart app before you rely on them.

Best For

Small to mid-size stores wanting a dedicated, proven thank-you page tool with the largest community in the category. See also the ReConvert alternatives.

3. AfterSell — Best for Shopify Plus & High-Volume Stores

Rating: not shown on the listing Pricing: From $34.99/mo (usage-based, scales with order volume; last published price, not re-checked) Best for: High-volume brands needing native checkout integration and enterprise targeting. AfterSell on the App Store.

Listing status: On 11 October 2026 the AfterSell listing showed "not currently available"; check the listing before installing. The price and feature details below come from earlier research and could not be re-checked while the listing is down.

What Makes AfterSell Stand Out

AfterSell (by Rokt) is purpose-built for Shopify's Checkout Extensibility framework. Upsell blocks load natively inside checkout rather than on a redirected page. For Shopify Plus merchants, the offers feel like a natural extension of the branded checkout.

Key Strengths

  • True one-click post-purchase upsells with instant charging.
  • Multi-step funnels: upsell → downsell → cross-sell sequences.
  • Advanced rules engine (cart value, customer tags, UTM source, products, language, geo).
  • Granular A/B testing with detailed revenue attribution.
  • Native checkout order bumps (Plus exclusive).
  • Rokt AI Smart Funnels for automated optimization.

Where It Falls Short

  • No free plan. Pricing starts at $34.99/mo.
  • Requires consistent A/B testing to get full value — not "set and forget."
  • Built mainly for post-purchase and checkout offers; for cart-drawer upsells, pair it with a cart app.

Best For

High-volume DTC brands and Shopify Plus merchants who want a dedicated after checkout upsell tool with deep targeting. See also the AfterSell alternatives.

4. Selleasy — Best Free Post-Purchase Upsell App

Rating: 4.9/5 (2,748 reviews) Pricing: Free up to 50 orders/month (all features); $9/mo up to 500 orders, $19 up to 1,000, $29 above that, with a 30-day trial on paid plans — no revenue commission Certification: Built for Shopify Best for: New stores testing post-purchase upsells risk-free. Selleasy on the App Store.

What Makes Selleasy Stand Out

Every feature free until 50 orders/month. No revenue share on upsell sales: plans are priced on order count. Covers product page FBT bundles, cart upsells, and post-purchase offers. Not as deep in funnel logic as AfterSell or Zipify, but the breadth at zero cost is hard to beat.

Key Strengths

  • Free up to 50 orders/month. Zero feature restrictions.
  • No revenue share.
  • Product page, cart, and post-purchase touchpoints.
  • Works with any theme, per its listing, in seven languages.
  • Free setup call plus chat, email and Zoom support, per its listing.

Where It Falls Short

  • No advanced funnel logic (no upsell → downsell branching).
  • UI is functional, not premium.
  • A/B testing is not among its listed features.

Best For

Brand new stores that want post-purchase upsell revenue from day one with zero financial risk.

5. Zipify OneClickUpsell (OCU) — Best for Aggressive Funnel Builders

Rating: 4.6/5 (569 reviews) Pricing: $9.95/mo while you earn up to $200 a month in upsell revenue, $25–$99/mo from $200 to $2,500, then $149/mo (never more than $999); free on development stores; 30-day trial Certification: Built for Shopify Best for: Performance marketers running complex multi-step funnels. Zipify OCU on the App Store; see also the Zipify OneClickUpsell alternatives.

What Makes Zipify Stand Out

Created by e-commerce veteran Ezra Firestone. The standout feature: conditional funnel logic. Accept Upsell A → show Upsell B. Decline A → show Downsell C. This branching separates Zipify from simpler post-purchase upsell apps.

Key Strengths

  • Advanced multi-step funnel logic with branching.
  • AI-optimized offer placement.
  • Targeting by product, cart value and customer tags, per its listing.
  • Strong split testing and analytics.
  • Native Plus checkout upsells.

Where It Falls Short

  • Steeper learning curve. Built for marketers, not beginners.
  • Revenue-based pricing gets expensive at scale.
  • Overkill under 500 orders/month.

6. WISER AI

Rating: 4.9/5 (560 reviews) Pricing: Free up to 50 orders/month; $9/mo for 51–100 orders, $19 for 101–300, $49 for 301–500; 14-day trial on paid plans Certification: no Built for Shopify badge Best for: Large catalogs that need AI to handle recommendations automatically. WISER on the App Store.

What Makes WISER Stand Out

WISER tracks shopper signals across the entire journey. If someone buys a digital camera, WISER's AI dynamically generates a post-purchase offer for the exact compatible lens with the highest historical conversion rate. No manual rules needed.

Key Strengths

  • AI recommendations based on real-time behavior and purchase history.
  • One-click post-purchase upsells on the thank-you page.
  • Product page FBT, cart upsells, AND post-purchase in one app.
  • Email recommendations via Klaviyo/Mailchimp.
  • A/B testing with analytics.

Where It Falls Short

  • Setup and AI training take longer than single-purpose apps.
  • Less manual funnel control than Zipify or AfterSell.

7. Kaching Post-Purchase Upsell — Best Simple Setup

Rating: 5.0/5 (385 reviews) Pricing: $4.99/mo up to 99 orders, $7.99 up to 199, $19.99 up to 499; free on development stores; 14-day trial Certification: Built for Shopify Best for: Merchants who want a focused, best after checkout upsell tool with a short learning curve. Kaching Post Purchase Upsell on the App Store.

Kaching Post-Purchase Upsell screenshot

What Makes Kaching Stand Out

Kaching Post Purchase Upsell does one thing: one click upsell Shopify offers that appear right after payment, as post-purchase upsell and downsell funnels. It is a separate listing from Kaching's bundles and cart-drawer apps, so it has no product page widgets and no cart drawer.

Key Strengths

  • No code required.
  • Built on Shopify's native post-purchase extension.
  • Targeting rules such as minimum order value and UTM tags, per its listing.
  • Unlimited funnels, with 11 languages listed.

Where It Falls Short

  • Narrow feature set — you'll need separate apps for cart and product page upsells.
  • A/B testing is not among its listed features, unlike ReConvert, Zipify OCU and AOV.ai.

8. Honeycomb Upsell & Cross-Sell — Best Visual Funnel Builder

Rating: 4.6/5 (158 reviews) Pricing: Free plan (100 monthly funnel views); $54.99/mo for 2,000 views, $109.99 for 5,000, $169.99 for 10,000; 7-day trial on paid plans Certification: no Built for Shopify badge Best for: Visual learners who want a flowchart-style view of their entire upsell strategy. Honeycomb on the App Store.

What Makes Honeycomb Stand Out

Honeycomb bridges pre-purchase and post-purchase with a visual funnel builder that's arguably the most intuitive in the ecosystem. You can map out exactly how your Shopify checkout upsell apps logic flows — which offer triggers which, what happens on accept vs. decline — all in a visual interface.

Key Strengths

  • Visual flowchart-style funnel builder.
  • In-cart upsells, slide-cart recommendations, and post-purchase offers.
  • Premium carousel and pop-up layouts that match your branding.
  • A free plan, capped at 100 monthly funnel views, includes the one-click post-purchase upsell.

Where It Falls Short

  • The first paid plan is $54.99/mo, the highest entry price on this list, and plans are metered by funnel views rather than orders.
  • Fewer reviews (158) means a smaller support community.

9. AOV.ai — Best AI-First Automation

Rating: 4.9/5 (164 reviews) Pricing: Free up to $200 of upsell revenue per 30 days; paid plans are $19/mo (Basic Shopify), $29 (Grow and Advanced) and $59 (Plus), with a 7-day trial Certification: Built for Shopify Best for: Lean teams that want AI to handle the best after checkout upsell decisions with minimal manual work. AOV.ai Post Purchase Upsell on the App Store.

AOV.ai screenshot

What Makes AOV.ai Stand Out

AOV.ai leans on AI-assisted offers instead of purely manual funnel building: on paid plans its Offer AI finds upsells for you, and AI-powered templates speed up launch. It also handles Shopify thank you page apps functionality with one-click offers, gifts, and discount triggers on the post-purchase, order confirmation and order status pages.

Key Strengths

  • AI-assisted offers and templates, plus manual targeting by product, cart value, customer segment or shipping country.
  • One-click post-purchase offers on thank-you and order status pages.
  • Gifts, discounts, and coupons as upsell triggers.
  • No coding required.
  • Built for Shopify certified (badge on the listing, 11 October 2026).

Where It Falls Short

  • A/B tests cover two variants at a time, per its listing, so it gives data-driven marketers less manual control than Zipify OCU.
  • Smaller review base (164) than ReConvert, Selleasy, Zipify OCU or WISER.

Ratings, review counts, prices, free plans and Built for Shopify badges were read from each App Store listing on 11 October 2026 (USD). "n/a" for AfterSell means the listing showed no data, and its other cells come from our earlier research. "Not listed" means A/B testing is not in that listing's feature list, not that the app lacks it.

ReConvert vs AfterSell vs Oxify — Direct Comparison

The right choice depends on whether you want a thank-you page specialist, a checkout specialist, or a cart-first system with post-purchase built in. "Listed" in the table means the feature is named in the app's App Store feature list on 11 October 2026; we have not tested how deep it goes. The AfterSell column comes from our earlier research and was not re-checked.

So Which One Should You Pick?

Pick ReConvert if your store already has a cart drawer and product page upsells covered, and you want a dedicated, widget-rich thank-you page with surveys, birthday capture, and community-building tools.

Pick AfterSell if you're spending heavily on paid media, and need enterprise-grade targeting (UTM, customer tags, geo) with granular A/B testing; check its listing status first.

Pick Oxify if you want to cover the entire funnel — product page, cart drawer, AND post-purchase without installing a separate app for each placement. No revenue commissions. All features on every plan. One install replaces a cart drawer app + free gift app + product page upsell + post-purchase upsell app.

Zipify OCU vs AfterSell vs WISER: Which Fits Which Store?

These three get compared together because each can run one-click post-purchase offers with targeting and analytics, but they bill and work differently. The Zipify OCU and WISER columns were read from their App Store listings on 11 October 2026; the AfterSell column is from our earlier research.

In short: choose Zipify OCU if you want branching funnels and prefer to pay on upsell revenue, WISER if you want AI-picked offers and a free start under 50 orders a month, and AfterSell for Plus-scale targeting once you have confirmed its listing is available. Shopify runs one post-purchase app at a time, so this is a choice between three, not a stack.

The Full-Funnel Playbook: How Top Stores Stack Upsells

A common structure is a layered system with one offer per placement:

Step 1: Product Page

Show frequently bought together bundles and volume discounts. Prime the cart before checkout.

Step 2: Cart Drawer

Replace the default cart with a slide cart. Add a free shipping bar, free gifts at spending thresholds, and countdown timers. This is where a strong cart drawer app turns passive carts into revenue engines.

Step 3: Checkout

Checkout UI extensions on the information, shipping and payment steps are available only on Shopify Plus. Most apps here list checkout upsells among their features, so see our checkout upsell guide for the Plus rules before you count on one.

Step 4: Post-Purchase

One-click offer for a complementary product, with a lower-priced downsell if it is declined; see how to build a post-purchase upsell and downsell funnel.

Step 5: Thank-You Page

Reorder discounts, birthday data capture for future email campaigns, or post-purchase SMS sequences.

Layering works only while offers don't pile up. In Growth Suite's January–June 2026 data, acceptance was 12% in the cart drawer, 9% at checkout (only 28 Plus stores), 7% on product pages and 6% post-purchase, and the second offer a shopper saw in a session converted best at 8% before falling to 1% by the fourth. Give each placement one offer rather than stacking several.

How to Measure Post-Purchase Upsell Performance

Installing an app is step one. Measuring whether it's working is step two. Track these KPIs:

  • Take Rate — What percentage of customers accept the upsell offer? Growth Suite's January–June 2026 post-purchase average was 6% across 200 stores, a useful reference point, though it is one vendor's data and your own rate by offer matters more.
  • Revenue Per Visitor (RPV) — Total revenue divided by total visitors. This tells you if the upsell is lifting your overall revenue or just shifting purchases around.
  • Incremental AOV — Compare your AOV before and after enabling post-purchase offers. A 14-day window with 100+ orders is a practical minimum, not a statistical guarantee. AOV rises by take rate × the accepted offer's price: 6% of orders accepting a $20 offer adds $1.20 per order (an illustration, not a result).
  • Offer Click-Through Rate — How many customers even look at the offer? Low CTR means the offer isn't grabbing attention (try a better headline or product image).
  • Downsell Conversion — If you use upsell → downsell sequences, track what percentage convert on the lower-priced alternative. This is often where hidden revenue lives.

Pro tip: Don't just measure take rate in isolation. A 25% take rate on a ₹200 offer is worse than a 10% take rate on a ₹1,500 offer. Always tie take rate back to actual revenue impact.

5 Mistakes That Kill Post-Purchase Conversions

Mistake 1: Showing Irrelevant Offers

Yoga mat buyer gets a kitchen blender upsell. Instant trust killer. Match offers to what was just purchased — accessories, refills, upgrades.

Mistake 2: Pricing the Upsell Too High

Keep the offer small next to the order. A ₹500 add-on on a ₹2,000 order is an easy yes; a ₹2,000 add-on is a second purchase decision and far more likely to be declined.

Mistake 3: Skipping A/B Tests

Your first offer is rarely your best. Test products, discount types, and copy angles one at a time. For wording to test, grab our post-purchase upsell copy templates.

Mistake 4: Overloading the Customer

One or two offers max. Shopify caps a checkout at three accepted post-purchase offers, and Growth Suite's data shows acceptance falling to 1% by the fourth offer a shopper sees in a session. Use downsell logic instead — high-value first, lower alternative if declined.

Mistake 5: Ignoring Mobile

Preview every offer on a phone before launch. A tall product image or a long headline can push the Accept button out of view, and a hidden button is a declined offer.

How to Get Started (15-Minute Plan)

  1. Pick one app. Shopify runs only one post-purchase app at a time. Not sure? Start on a free plan (Selleasy, WISER, ReConvert or AOV.ai), or try Oxify (our app) free for 14 days if you also want the cart drawer.
  2. Create one post-purchase offer. Best-seller + complementary accessory, with a discount you can test.
  3. Run for 14 days across 100+ orders.
  4. Measure take rate and incremental AOV.
  5. Iterate. Different product, discount, or headline. Keep winners. Kill losers.

FAQ: Shopify Post-Purchase Upsell Apps

What is the best post-purchase upsell app for Shopify?

It depends on what you need. Selleasy, WISER, ReConvert, Honeycomb and AOV.ai have free plans for small stores, ReConvert is the thank-you page specialist, Zipify OCU suits multi-step funnels with A/B testing, and Oxify Cart Drawer & Upsells (our app) fits stores that also want the cart drawer in the same install. Ratings and prices were checked on 11 October 2026; see the comparison table.

Do post-purchase upsells hurt my checkout conversion rate?

No. Post-purchase offers appear after payment is completed. If declined, the original order is unaffected, which is the fundamental advantage over pre-purchase upsells that can cause cart abandonment. The one side effect is operational: Shopify holds fulfilment until the buyer reaches the Order status page or, if they never finish, for one hour after checkout.

How much can post-purchase upsells increase my AOV?

AOV rises by the share of orders that accept the offer times the accepted offer's price. Growth Suite's January–June 2026 data put post-purchase acceptance at 6% on average, so a $20 offer adds about $1.20 per order (an illustration, not a result). Replenhair's Oxify dashboard attributed £2,573 of its £15,451 total to post-purchase offers.

What's the difference between a post-purchase upsell and a checkout upsell?

A checkout upsell (order bump) appears during payment, before the buyer clicks "Pay", and Shopify limits offers on the information, shipping and payment steps to Plus stores. A post-purchase upsell appears after payment confirmation and works on every plan except Shopify Starter. Post-purchase has no abandonment risk because the sale is already secured.

Can I use post-purchase upsell apps without Shopify Plus?

Yes. Shopify's post-purchase checkout extensions are available on every plan except Shopify Starter (docs read 11 October 2026; still labelled beta), so apps built on them, including those here, work without Plus. The part that needs Shopify Plus is offers inside the checkout steps themselves, before payment.

Should I use a cart drawer alongside a post-purchase upsell app?

Yes. A slide cart drawer captures impulse buys before checkout, while post-purchase adds to orders already paid for. Several apps here list both (Oxify, Zipify OCU, WISER, Selleasy, ReConvert), so one install can cover both, or you can pair a cart-drawer app with a post-purchase app. Only one app can run the post-purchase page at a time.

Do these apps slow down my Shopify store?

Shopify enforces one performance rule for apps: an app may not lower the storefront Lighthouse performance score by more than 10 points, and Built for Shopify repeats it. On 11 October 2026 the listings of Oxify, Selleasy, Zipify OCU, Kaching and AOV.ai showed the Built for Shopify badge; ReConvert, WISER and Honeycomb did not. The badge reflects Shopify's review, not our own speed test.

How much do post-purchase upsell apps cost?

Five have free plans (checked 11 October 2026): ReConvert up to 50 orders or $50 upsell revenue, Selleasy and WISER up to 50 orders, Honeycomb up to 100 funnel views and AOV.ai up to $200 of upsell revenue a month. First paid plans run from Kaching's $4.99 to Honeycomb's $54.99. Zipify OCU bills on upsell revenue ($9.95 up to $200 a month, never above $999); most others bill on monthly orders.

What is the best AfterSell alternative?

For a dedicated post-purchase funnel builder, Zipify OCU and ReConvert are the closest on this list: both list A/B testing, and Zipify OCU adds targeting by cart value and Plus checkout offers. Selleasy, WISER and AOV.ai have free entry plans. Shopify runs one post-purchase app at a time, so switch rather than stack, and see our AfterSell alternatives guide.

Which post-purchase upsell tools support targeting by cart value and show results?

Per their App Store listings on 11 October 2026: Zipify OCU targets by product, cart value and customer tags, AOV.ai by product, cart value, customer segment and shipping country, and Kaching by minimum order value and UTM tags. Zipify, AOV.ai, WISER, ReConvert and Oxify list conversion or funnel analytics. Measuring profit lift needs your own before-and-after AOV, because Shopify pixels report only the initial purchase.

Is AfterSell or Rebuy better for a high-volume Shopify Plus brand?

Rebuy Personalization Engine (4.7 from 853 reviews, no Built for Shopify badge on 11 October 2026) lists cart, checkout and post-purchase upsells and starts at $25/month, scaling with order volume. AfterSell is a dedicated post-purchase and checkout app; its listing status is noted in the AfterSell section above. For a Plus brand, shortlist apps whose listing names in-checkout offers and compare their pricing at your own order volume.

A post-purchase upsell is a low-risk add-on, not a replacement for cart and product-page offers: the average acceptance is modest, the sale is already secured, and the best after checkout upsell tools are quick to set up. Pick one app, set up one offer, measure what happens against your own before-and-after AOV, and keep what works.
